Maximiliano Cervantes (1999, Harlingen, Texas) is an artist
questioning photography’s unstable power, where the
index gives way to fiction and fantasy. He attended the
Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture (2024), holds
an MFA from Northwestern University (2024), and a BFA
from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2021). By
collapsing history, high and low-fidelity, memory,
appropriation, and autoethnography, his practice resists
seriality, questioning territorial boundaries as a viral
bureaucratic parasite.
